What do timesheet review statuses mean?

For office teams · Updated July 7, 2026

Use this when reading the Timesheets week grid or deciding what a day needs before payroll.

Day statuses

  1. Ready to approve: a clean submitted day waiting on reviewer approval.
  2. Needs fixing: the day has a blocker such as unallocated time, a pending correction, or a check.
  3. Missing: no time was captured for that day.
  4. Time off: approved time off covers the day and no work was logged.
  5. Approved: reviewed and payroll-ready.
  6. Locked: finalized for payroll.
  7. Rejected: a reviewer sent the day back to the worker.

In-progress days

A day still being worked shows hours only, with no status action, until it is submitted or parked overnight.

Triage chips

The chips above the grid filter to Ready to approve, Needs fixing, or Missing so you can clear one kind of work at a time.

Finding people

Use search to jump to one person. People whose week is fully approved collapse out of the way, and a count link shows or hides them.

Important

Approved and Locked days are payroll-facing and blocked from normal edits. Use Undo Approval & Send Back in the day panel before changing an approved day.
