How do I edit, hold, cancel, or resume an event?
For office teams · Updated October 12, 2026
Use this when scheduled work changes after it has been created.
Edit
Open the event record and expand the section you need. Dispatch Basics opens first, with Schedule, Location, and Instructions below it. Crew and vehicles have their own Team and Vehicles sections on the event record. Time and assignment changes may notify the assigned crew. If your access comes from the Can schedule toggle rather than full schedule management, you can edit or cancel only events you created, and only before they are completed or cancelled.
Reschedule by dragging
You can also drag an event to a new slot on the Schedule Board. A Reschedule Event dialog shows the change and asks you to confirm the move before anything is saved.
Put on hold
Choose Put on hold from the event record menu when the event should stay visible but should not be treated as ready work.
Resume
Choose Resume event when the blocker clears and the work should return to active scheduling.
Cancel
Choose Cancel Event only when the scheduled work should no longer happen. You will be asked for a reason and an optional note, and the event keeps its history for the project record.
Best practice
Update the existing event whenever possible. Duplicates make the schedule, notifications, labor, and Project Costing harder to trust.
