How do I use event tags?

For office teams · Updated July 7, 2026

Use this when you want to label events with short shared keywords and filter the schedule by them.

Add tags to an event

  1. Create or edit an event.
  2. Open the Tags field in the Work Type & Details step of the create wizard, or in Dispatch Basics on the event record.
  3. Type a short label such as fragile or rush and press Enter. Suggestions appear from tags your organization already uses, with usage counts.
  4. Add up to 10 tags per event, then save.

Filter the schedule by tag

Tags appear as small chips on Schedule Board cards and Dispatch Queue rows. Click a chip and the schedule filters to events carrying that tag, with a Filtered by chip you can dismiss to clear the filter.

Manage tags for the organization

  1. Open Settings and choose the Operations tab.
  2. Find the Event Tags section, which lists every tag with how many events use it.
  3. Choose Rename to fix wording. Renaming a tag to one that already exists merges the two after a confirmation.
  4. Choose Delete to remove a tag from every event.

Best practice

Reuse suggested tags instead of inventing near-duplicates. Renames and deletes update every event in your organization and cannot be undone, and only users who can manage events org-wide see those controls.
