How do I record work that happened before ContentsOps?

For office teams · Updated October 12, 2026

Use this when work was done before ContentsOps, or in another system, and the project history needs it.

One visit at a time

Open the customer and go to the Events tab. Choose Add historical visit — it sits beside + Event when the project has no live events, and under More otherwise. Record the date, the work type, only the times you can actually confirm, the outcome, and the crew as plain names.

An event someone scheduled by mistake

If work that already happened was entered as a scheduled event, open the event and choose Mark as historical record from the overflow menu.

A whole batch

Open Settings, choose the Data tab, and use Import historical visits. The wizard runs Upload, Map columns, Preview, Import. The preview marks rows that were already imported and flags possible duplicates so you can skip them before anything is written.

What makes a historical visit different

It never notifies a crew, never appears in dispatch readiness, and is left out of performance metrics while still counting in history. Crew is recorded as names, and anything you cannot confirm stays blank instead of being estimated.

Best practice

Record the outcome and attach the source record. That is what lets the timeline show when the work happened rather than when it was typed in.
