How do I send documents for signature?

For office teams · Updated September 21, 2026

Use this when a customer or your company needs to sign a document, such as a Work Authorization or COS.

Send a packet

  1. Open the customer, select the Attachments tab, choose the Signatures view, then select Send for signature.
  2. In the Document step, choose one of your organization's active templates.
  3. In the Signers step, confirm each signer's name and email.
  4. If the document has a second company signer role, the Company counter-signer panel appears: pick the team member who countersigns (prefilled from the template default) and choose the signing order, In order — customer first or All at once.
  5. Finish on Review & send.

Track status

Each packet shows a status pill: Sent, Partially Signed, Completed, Declined, Voided, or Expired. Open a packet for per-signer progress (Sent, Viewed, Signed) and the expiry countdown. Signed PDFs land in Attachments automatically. The Signatures page in the sidebar opens the Signature Center with org-wide Packets and, if you manage templates, Templates.

Resend or remind

Open the packet and use Resend link to re-deliver the signing email. Reminders also go out automatically while a packet is open.

If an email bounces

The signer row shows an Email bounced note. Correct the address and use Send a fresh packet: same document, new link, new deadline, and the old packet stays on record. Use Void packet with a reason to cancel a packet that should not be signed.
