How do I use Team Chat?

For everyone · Updated September 21, 2026

Use this when your team needs internal messaging between office and field.

Find your channels

Open Team Chat from the sidebar on web, or from the More tab on mobile. The channel list shows unread markers and the newest message time; pick a channel to read and reply.

Create a channel

  1. Choose New channel. Only admins and office managers can create channels.
  2. Name the channel, for example Field Crew.
  3. Use Add members to search and select people.
  4. Choose Create.

Manage members

Open Channel settings inside a channel to rename it, add members, or remove a member. Managers can also archive a channel, which hides it for everyone.

Post messages

Type a message and send from web or mobile, attaching a photo up to 10 MB or a short video if needed. You can remove your own messages, and managers can remove anyone's.

Notifications and badges

New messages push to teammates' phones, mark the channel unread, and drive the app icon badge. Chat pushes can be muted in notification preferences.

Failed sends from the field

On mobile, sends queue in an outbox: a queued message shows Sending and delivers automatically once signal returns or the app reopens, even after a restart. If it fails outright it shows Failed to send — tap to retry, and a long press deletes it. On web, the message stays in the composer with Message didn't send, so you can send again.

What to send support

Send the channel name, when you sent the message, and whether it still shows Sending or a failed state.
