What happens when mobile work is offline or pending sync?

For field crews · Updated September 21, 2026

Use this when you see the offline pill or want to know whether work saved on your phone reached the office.

The offline pill

When you lose signal, a small floating pill appears reading Offline — saving to this phone or Weak signal — saving to this phone. Once work is queued it switches to a count, such as Offline · 3 updates saved. Keep working; new work is saved on the device. Tap the pill to open Sync Status.

What keeps working

Clock actions, lunch, work switching, event updates, photos, materials, notes, and warehouse receiving all queue on the phone and upload automatically when signal returns. Even a queued clock-out shows Saved — will sync.

What needs a connection

Starting a vehicle checkout, opening an event that was never loaded on this phone, and fresh photos need signal. The schedule falls back to your saved copy.

Sync Status screen

Open it from the pill, the Today tab, the Scan tab, or your profile. It shows the connection state, the latest sync time, a Waiting to sync list grouped by category, a Sync now button, and a Needs attention section with retry and discard. Work uploads oldest first, and signing out never deletes pending work.

If submit is blocked

When Submit says Cannot Submit because work has not synced, tap Review & submit to submit the timesheet already saved on the server, or reconnect and try again.

What to send support

The date, the worker, what the pill or Sync Status shows, and how long items have been waiting.
