Why am I not getting notifications?

For everyone · Updated October 26, 2026

Use this when you expect a notification on your phone and it never arrives.

Check the app

  1. In the app, open More › Account & App Settings. The Notifications row shows Enabled, Permission enabled, or Disabled.
  2. Tap Notifications. Under Status, Notification permission should read Granted and Push token should read registered.
  3. If permission is not granted, tap Open Settings and allow notifications for ContentsOps.
  4. Tap Send test notification. It should appear right away.
  5. If the test arrives but real alerts do not, tap Re-register push token.

Check your phone

Focus modes and Do Not Disturb can hide notifications. On Android, battery optimization can delay or block reminders; set Battery to Unrestricted for ContentsOps. Android also lists each notification channel, and one marked muted/low is turned down in your phone's settings.

Which alerts to expect

Time reminders, such as lunch running long, are scheduled on the phone after you clock in or start lunch; they are listed under Scheduled reminders on this device. Event updates, such as being added to or removed from an event or a time change, reach only the people assigned to that event. Inactive accounts get no notifications.

What to send support

Open Diagnostic log on the same screen, and include a screenshot of the Notifications screen, when you expected the alert, and what it was about.

On the web

Alerts also land in Inbox, so check it on the website or in the app if a notification was missed.
